Extension of the AWT system for BKH-Günzburg

Extension of the existing automated goods transport system comprising a container storage system with 40 storage spaces and connection to the new psychiatric unit

BKH-Günzburg uses automatic goods transport system (AWT) in the form of an electric overhead conveyor in combination with elevators.

An automatic goods transport system (AWT) in the form of an electric overhead conveyor in combination with elevators is in operation at the BKH-Günzburg. It transports goods from the points of supply (sources) to the corresponding points of consumption (sinks) and returns materials to be disposed of back to the sources. A container storage system with approx. 40 storage spaces and a lateral transfer shuttle with a container rotation device will be installed in the new food supply building. The existing monorail track will be modified to meet the new requirements.

Furthermore, the new psychiatric building, which is being constructed as a four-storey building with a basement, will be connected to the AWT system. This will be done using a double-rail rotary track-switch, which will be installed in the AWT channel as a junction.

In a later construction phase, this track-switch will also be used to supply another area of the clinic.
